Deepening to stay awake

I work at a computer all day most days.  Sometimes I get very sleepy.

An interesting thing that I found is that deepening techniques work in reality.  In other words, they help me stay more awake.

When I get tired I'll rub my hands, peer at objects, and when nobody is around I'll even spin in a few circles.

These techniques work better than anything else I've found at staying awake (particularly spinning).

I tried this because I figured deepening was really just a way to make your mind more awake in REM sleep.

This has been a very good application in my waking life.

I don't think I'll try diving into the floor in real life yet. ;)

I can evolve your thoughts further: the practice of the phase state of the mind helps to improve many functions of our memory and consciousness. It happens without any techniques, but only because you are training to be aware in the state where you shouldn't be usually.
